Now The family of grasses (Poaceae)
represents one of the largest of the Siberian flora. It comprises 72 genera
and 440 species and subspecies. In this book, 27 new species and subspecies
(7 of them with Latin diagnosis) are described; 17 varieties have been
elevated to the rank of species and their distribution ranges identified;
more than 10 taxa regarded as synonyms by former researchers are restored to
the rank of species; 14 species detected in the herbarium material are
described for the first time for the Siberian territory. The somatic
chromosome number is cited for several species and subspecies.
